Gemologist Institute of America

The Gemologist Institute of America is a great place to start to help educate you on the topics of diamonds and color gemstones. The GIA has built a platform based on knowledge for the professionals and consumers alike. To learn more about the GIA and their mission, click here!

In addition, the American Gem Society (AGS) was founded in 1934 by a small group of leading jewelers. They too have a respected lab, although not traded as well in the industry as GIA. They provide a variety of benefits that include detailed information on diamonds, gemstones, diamond grading standards & grading reports. They are considered the ethical branch of the jewelry industry, which only a small percentage of retail stores have the training and/or standards to meet their requirements.
